I've been at the original 66th Street place and pretty much the same but had wished they served more curry based food. The daal, nan, tandoori are all good but wished they'd go on the edge a little. This 9th Street restaurant is an old bar with so many names already, was renamed Clay Oven now. It's a bit dark, the pool tables are gone now but the same TV and music. Its pricing is a bit high for a Sunday lunch compared to a Chinese buffet and it offered less selection. But is its authentic Indian food and now much closer to home. Will I return?

Great food and amazing hospitality. Chicken curry and paneer dishes with naan were delicious.

Terrible food, service and decor. Looks like they are renovating while open. Very dirty with sticky floors and cheap old booths. Food tasted reheated and not freshly made.

The food is amazing, I would of had a third plate but I just couldn't fit any more food in me. Mohan was very attentive and knowledgable about the food. Our company makes it a point to have lunch here at least once a month!

I had visited the old Clay Oven in Pinellas Park in the past and was reasonably happy with the food and decided to try out the new location. Entered on a Saturday afternoon for the lunch buffet to an almost empty restaurant and that should have been an indication of things to come. The new location is much larger than the previous one but is seriously lacking in terms of quality of food. I knew I couldn't expect much when I saw pasta as part of the lunch buffet. The lesser said about the other food the better. Ended up paying 30$ including tip for a way below par buffet with no drinks. Won't be going here again.

"Let's have Indian buffet for lunch" a co-worker said. Thankfully, this location recently opened (relocated from Pinellas Park) and it's 1/2 mile from our office. We called ahead and they were able to set up a big table for us since we had about 15 in our party. The buffet was a decent size and had a nice selection. Everything I tried was tasty. A couple of items did have a nice little extra kick to them. The buffet had masala croquettes, butter chicken, chicken tandoori, paneer bhagee-bahar, veggies, just to name a few. The choices do vary according to their website. Our waiter was very friendly and fast. The place was busy, especially for Friday lunch time, but there are plenty of seats for everyone. I'm certainly not an Indian food expert, but this was very yummy. Definitely worth another visit!

My experience was mixed. I was there for lunch and had the buffet. The tastes of the different dishes were good and unique from each other. At the time the buffet was out of what I would consider essential items: Naan and rice. What little rice was left was just a few clumps. I inquired about the lack of these two items. After 10 minutes of nothing done about it, I asked again. Finally about 10 minutes later both were refilled, but had the person sitting with not noticed that they were refilled, I would not have known. It would have been nice if they had let me know since I had asked twice. The atmosphere is not your typical Indian restaurant feeling. I had the feeling it was an old biker bar/pool hall. While in general I admire interesting lighting, I found the flickering colored LED lighting on the bar to be absurd and distracting and made it look cheap. They would do well to just pick a color and set it. In my opinion it was the least nice Indian buffet I've ever been to, but it wasn't horrible. It is a new location so they may be still adjusting. I would give them another chance.

It looked and smelled like a bar when we walked in. Did not smell a hint of Indian food. My girlfriend and I are of Indian decent and we frequent Indian restaurants every week. This was no Indian restaurant. The buffet was small to say the least. There was no butter chicken on the buffet.....every Indian buffet that I've been to serves butter chicken. The rice was NOT basmati rice and the food was seriously lacking in flavor. It was very watered down. The seats at the booth were broken and the atmosphere did not scream Indian restaurants. The naan was not real naan. It looked and tasted more like the frozen ones you would get at the ethnic grocers. They also had spaghetti on the buffet???!!??

My favorite Indian place in the area. So glad they moved closer to mi casa. My faves are saag paneer, chicken tikka masala and butter paneer masala. I tried "hot" once and my mouth was on fire -- just a word of caution. Try them out!!

Let me preface this by saying I was excited to see an Indian restaurant so close to home. I ordered take out for dinner last night and I was the only one in the large restaurant. The décor is dingy and circa 1980. This is not a place to take a date who doesn't already love you. About the food, I ordered Chicken Xacuti and it was watery; I'm use to a creamier version. The Naan was scrumptious, but when is it not? I'll go back because of the proximity but this isn't great Indian food.

This place looks like half club, half restaurant. The staff was friendly. We got lunch buffet to go and were given fresh Naan. Great food. Lots of choices and just enough spice. Soup, salad entrees and desserts! I will definitely be back.

I'm on the hunt for quality Indian food in the area. I ordered chicken tikka masala & garlic naan, per usual. This was good, with a decent amount of spice, though I would have preferred more. Sauce tasted strongly of cinnamon/nutmeg, not a typical flavor I expect in my chicken tikka, though I know it's an ingredient in the sauce. It wasn't unpleasant, but not what I was hoping for. Naan was large, somewhat rubbery, though that may have been because it spent time in my car on the journey home.
